poison by nicktheartisticfreak poison by nicktheartisticfreak
fuck drugs. nothing good can come of them.

naked chick, a monster, random scribling, and NO digital work = fun fun fun!!!
technically this should be in scraps, it is a doodle really. but then no one would see it, defeating the point of posting it in the first place...:\

My first impression was of The Maxx.

One of my more favored comic book characters.

I'm curious as to what you use for the white areas in your drawings.

Thanks for sharing.

good call. i have some opaque white ink for use with a fountain pen, but at this point i was using a gel pen. they have a tendency to clog. they seem to be the best.

I'll have to keep that in mind, next time I'm buying supplies.

i just bought more gel pens lol. i plan to soak them in solvent if they clog again. we'll see if that helps.

Wouldn't the solvent cause them to bleed? Perhaps you just need to try a different brand.

if they bleed then that solves the clog, whether or not it keeps bleeding...
problem is there is no good brand. i've asked around and they all clog up. there must be some brand out there, somewhere...

Or perhaps another form of the same tool. Fountain pen style, instead of gel.

brown backgrounds for trad art is my favourite. the way you draw your demons are totally imaginative and you must be very very talented to get all those similar but still very original ideas in every piece of yours.

The little doodles next to the two characters are pretty well placed and it completes so much more the piece! its such a little touch but the piece gets so much more interresting and this way, you can keep your eyes on it for hours and still discover new things ^^ i really love that kind of drawings...

One thing tho is that i see that you seem to have more difficulty with women's body than men's muscles/etc... maybe you could study their body and practice a little more? cause i find pretty sad to see your male characters so detailed and amazing, and then you see this female character very very simple (but it still looks great, dont be worried!)

I admire you.

i like to have my work obsessed over ;p i only hope that my future work is as obsess-invocation worthy!
thank you so much :)

usually, i use digital process to fix contrast and color or line roughness, and sometimes add a photo background. but i like the feeling of an untainted sketch book page.

oh, ...those are suppoosed to be hands!?

:D i'm kidding, i'm kidding! there is nothing wrong with the hands you draw. i happen to like them actually. it is a particular skill, and it requires some thought, i can tell you're a natural  but you could try experimenting with some different hand poses. if it helps try drawing each bone in the hand individually from the palm out. drawing really long skinny bony hands usually helps, it's good fun too!

Awesome pic, man! Great inking. :)

What other stuff did you use? Im guessing some white out and either white charcoal or white colored pencils?

The anatomy on the chick and the monster could use some of work. The contrast is great.

Great stuff dude. :D

 i agree, the anatomy is sketchy. i used a white gel pen for fine details and a white china marker (it's soft and waxy) to fill and blend. and i used an alcohol based ink marker for the monster. i do have white charcoal and pencil crayon, but the two i used here work very well together. thank you for commenting! :)

I think the sketchiness of the anatomy adds to the message. art is an interpretation of life, not a mimicry! screw perfect anatomy!
