Wow! "OOH!" is the first thing I thought when I saw this one. It's stunning... the only thing close to a critique I would add is that the bg could use a bit more color... but it still works. Your highlights and lines together are a winning combination.
you have a bit of a tree theme carrying on lately, hey? ooh there's a skull wrapped in the roots of that tree... no doubt the book accounts the reason. I actually love the texture of the tree, if you get what i'm saying- it has a certain ooze, pliability, plumpness, a hint at life and abilities (of things like movement) besides that of a normal tree.
brilliance is always an element inherent to the flame, never the spark.
all in all i'm not so sure i like it, but i'm not so sure i don't either.
thank you for the awesome comment. i do have a theme lately, it seems to happen in waves. either it's a style, or some kind of subject, or object. fascinating. i love implying motion. even if it's an inanimate object, i like seeing that tension. trees seem to have a lot of that. as if they were frozen, or moving very slowly. which they are... could you imagine a time lapse of a single tree over it's whole life? crazy.
